Maths Term 2 Week 1/2 Reflection
In weeks 1 and 2 we timetabled what Room 2 at Taradale Intermediate were going to complete by the end of the week. We had to attend 2 workshops and fit in 5 minutes to cheek with Miss Patterson.
I attended workshops where I learnt how to Convert Fractions,Decimals and Percentages and Using fractional thinking to solve ratio problems eg 6:9 = ?: 24. I think I am getting better at Convert Fractions,Decimals and Percentages because for the last few years I have been struggling on Convert Fractions,Decimals and Percentages.
The things I had in my timetable were Basic Facts,3 Rich Tasks, Convert Fractions,Decimals and Percentages Workshop Using fractional thinking to solve ratio problems eg 6:9 = ?: 24, , Using fractional thinking to solve ratio problems eg 6:9 = ?: 24 Follow Up, Convert Fractions,Decimals and Percentages Follow Up.

In my Convert Fractions,Decimals and Percentages workshop I learnt how to Convert Fractions,Decimals and Percentages. An example of a problem I had to Convert 3/4 to 75% and 0.75 because 3/4 is 75/100 so it is 75% and 0.75. This is important to know because you could get them in a test or something.
In my Using fractional thinking to solve ratio problems I learnt Using fractional thinking to solve ratio problems . An example of a problem I had to solve was six blue cars to nine silver cars. How many blue cars would there be if there were 24 silver cars? I had a guess and guessed 21 blue cars but the correct answer was 16 because 9 divided by 3 is and 6 dividend by 3 is 2 then find out 9 times what is 24. This is important to know because you could get them in a test or something.
I found Using fractional thinking to solve ratio problems difficult because it has been one of my weak areas in maths and it is really complicated.
I found Convert Fractions,Decimals and Percentages easy because the follow up was pretty easy and Convert Fractions,Decimals and Percentages is one of my strengths in maths.
In my three rich tasks I had to find five different reasons why someone got 20 meters and the other 19.5 meters, in my second I had to find the fraction of a square with a rectangle connected to it with one bit colored in and rich task three was easy because it was a rugby question and I use to play rugby.
Next time I would like to learn how to Using fractional thinking to solve ratio problems better. This will help me in exams and test and hopefully get a better score.

Well done Tyler! I am impressed with how well you have reflected on finding converting fractions, decimals and percentages and talking about how difficult you found the ratio problems. Keep up the focus and hard work! Ka pai!
