Week 9 And 10 Maths Learning Reflection

In weeks 9 and 10 we timetabled what Room 2 at Taradale Intermediate were going to complete by the end of the week. We had to attend 2 workshops and fit in 5 minutes to cheek with Miss Patterson.
I attended workshops where I learnt how to multiply fractions and dividing whole numbers using  decimals and proportional numbers. I think I am getting better at multiplying fractions because for the last few years I have been struggling on multiplying fractions.
The things I had in my timetable were Basic Facts, Knowledge Goal Video, Rich Tasks, Dividing Whole Numbers Using  Decimals And Proportional Numbers Workshop, Multiplying Fractions Workshop, Dividing Whole Numbers Using  Decimals And Proportional Numbers Follow Up, Multiplying Fractions Follow Up.

In my multiplication workshop I learnt how to multiply fractions. An example of a problem I had to solve was 12/15 times 7/12 is 78/180 because 12 times 7 is 78 and 15 times 12 is 180 so 12/15 times 7/12 is 78/180. This is important to know because you could get them in a test or something.
In my division workshop I learnt how to divide whole numbers using  decimals and proportional numbers. An example of a problem I had to solve was 108 divided by 4 is 27 because half of 108 is 54, half of 54 is 27 and half of 4 is 2 and half of 2 is 1 so 27 times 1 is 27 so 108 divided by 4 is 27. This is important to know because  you could get them in a test or something.
I found Multiplying Fractions  difficult because multiplying has been one of my weak areas.
I found dividing whole numbers using  decimals and proportional numbers easy because the follow up was pretty easy and division is one of my strengths in maths.
Next time I would like to learn how to multiply fractions better. This will help me in exams and test and hopefully get a better score.

  2. Great comment Matthew- I totally agree with what you have said. Tyler this week you were focused, on task and completed your tasks to a high standard. I am impressed with the detail you have put into your blog post reflection and how you were able to explain your new knowledge. Keep up the great work!
